Have You Evaluated Your Child’s Progress Lately?

With the holidays in sight, now is a great time to review your child’s progress from the past few weeks, check your engagement with your child, make adjustments, and celebrate your wins.

If you take stock often, the disappointments won’t seem so great, and the satisfaction of your child’s success is seen and felt.

Questions to ask yourself

What are you doing to catalyze your child’s success? For me, I’m really working to keep my kids seeing the joy in their lives. I’m looking for opportunities to complement and congratulate them on small successes.

What goals do you want to put in place for yourself, your child and your family? I am going to be learning chess myself and then begin teaching my kids how to play. I’m looking forward to kicking my husband’s booty a few times!

How are YOU rewarding your work as your child’s primary role model? I will be getting more massages. I love foot reflexology and need to feel relaxed more often!

Yes, you can expect this will be hard work, which makes the idea of rewarding both your behavior and your child’s all the better.

Reward your child for their progress (even if it’s small!)

In the coming weeks, plan for both you and your student to take a day off

Surprise them by sleeping late, going to lunch at your favorite spot, or taking a free day. Yep, I would love for you to show your kids that even adults take a break from the hustle and bustle, slow down and love on the things that are most important!

Allow the freedom to stretch, relax, and step away occasionally.

I’m so proud of you for taking the time and effort to put your kids and your family’s growth first!

Remember, this journey is about learning and not just checking boxes. Take the time to show AND receive love from the people you cherish most.
